The end of judicial reforms?

Abstract

From the context of judicial reform processes in Latin America during the last decades and those that took place in Chile after the return of democratic government, the author analyses the initial evolution that delves this modernizing trend, highlighting its merits and then its gradual decay with the time without being able to complete the whole process. Approaches are proposed regarding the main causes of the referred phenomenon of regression in judicial reforms, either in the external and internal sphere, such as the loss of external impulse, the perception of the relationship between the effort invested and the benefits obtained, the decline political and technical aspects of the reform processes and the weak support.
